Sisters and Brothers,
This holiday season, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all Machinists Union members for your efforts to keep our country running over the past year. Regardless of the type of work you perform, you contributed to America’s rebound from the global COVID crisis.
Regardless of the challenges or the risk, you showed up and did what was asked of you. Many of you may miss out on gatherings over the holidays because you have to work. My wish is that you stay focused on the jobsite and return home safely to your family. I am proud of you and thankful you’re a member of our Union family.
Back in 1989, I was lucky that when I walked into the shipyard in Bath, ME, it was a union job. I didn’t have to fight my employer for union recognition.
Unfortunately, right here in the Eastern Territory, we have employers spending hundreds of thousands of dollars this holiday season, in an effort to keep their employees from having a voice in the workplace. I ask that you please keep these workers in your thoughts, and hope their 2022 comes with union representation.
Lastly I want to thank our brave service members, many of whom are spending the holidays away from their families so we can safely celebrate with ours. We are truly grateful for their sacrifices.
I wish each and every one of you a safe, healthy and happy holiday season. I hope 2022 brings you joy and good fortune.
In Solidarity,
Brian Bryant
